SMACK SPOTLIGHT Roots - Real Badman

2024 is already looking like a big year for SMACK NYC resident Roots. The NYC native has released one of his most highly sought-after dubplates with the incorrigible tune “Real Badman.” Drawing inspiration from the now infamous 2003 Exposure interview with Ninjaman and Emily Crooks, Roots places his finger on the pulse of bass music and cranks out a truly seismic dubstep banger.

Dripping in Roots’ trademark percussive flair this track possesses all the hallmarks of a sound system classic and seamlessly incorporates cutting-edge sonic aesthetics. “Real Badman” pulsates with the depth and weight of a paradigm-shifting tune, which heralds Roots’ arrival on the main stage. With support from The Widdler already, Roots continues to stamp his authority on East Coast soundwaves with this latest effort.
